Process Server Scotland

A process server is used to give legal notice to a person of a court’s intention to make them a party to a claim so as to enable them to respond to the proceedings before the court. An example could be, whenever someone is placed in bankruptcy, they must receive an order notifying them of upcoming claims and court dates. For instance, someone might be facing bankruptcy if they haven’t paid their bills or child support.

Notifying the defendant is the responsibility of the person filing the notice, this may be an individual acting alone, solicitors or the courts involved. In this age of technology-dependent communication, a phone call or email is not sufficient to notify them of proceedings and why a process server must be appointed. Defendants must personally be notified that actions are being taken against them, according to the law. However, due to legal requirements, only certain individuals are allowed to serve these notices. The individuals that fill this role are called process servers.

The service of legal documents in Scotland needs to be carried out by assertive, reliable and trustworthy process servers. That’s exactly why legal firms throughout the UK continue to call Dion International to carry out all their process serving appointments throughout Scotland. Our process server will ensure every job is executed with precision, efficiency and professionalism.  Please note we do not serve Scottish Process, but can serve process for actions raised out with Scotland.

EXPERIENCED & ASSERTIVE PROCESS SERVERS SCOTLAND

A process server at Dion International can provide a serving process on all legal documents such as Statutory Demands, Winding-up Petitions, Claim Forms, Court Orders and divorce petitions. We will provide you with a Certificate of Service, a Statement of Service or a Sworn Affidavit (at an additional cost) confirming the date and time the documents were served and this is usually lodged with the court prior to the hearing.

If a process server is unable to deliver the notice to the subject, they may also utilise a “substituted service.” This means that the process server instead delivers the notification to another legal adult resident of the household where the subject resides, with the understanding that the substitute will notify the subject. Our process servers have extensive knowledge of Scotland and cover localities, such as Edinburgh, Stranraer, Glasgow, Stirling, Fife, Perth, Dundee, Oban, Aberdeen, The Scottish Borders and Inverness.
